Yash Raj Films released Dhoom 3’s first teaser in August 2013. This teaser brought happiness for Aamir Khan’s fans. However, it also triggered something weird on various social networking sites.

This teaser triggered anti-Uday Chopra and Abhishek Bachchan wave. Uday was the most preferred target; people started posting anti-Uday Chopra posts on Facebook, and tweets on Twitter.

Uday was trending on social networking sites

Social networking sites are helping people to use their “freedom of expression”; almost everyone has become film and political critic these days. Social media has positive, as well as negative impact on our life, and perhaps Uday Chopra knows more about its negative side.

Uday Chopra faced all the criticism without complaining

Thousands of virtual and physical keyboards from around the world were being utilised to type jokes about late Yash Chopra’s younger son during November 2013. Almost half of the country’s population was busy in criticizing Uday Chopra. Even some of Bollywood’s best film critics used this opportunity by making fun of this young Chopra, who has never raised his voice against anyone for damaging his image.

Some famous bloggers even claimed that Dhoom 3 was only made to keep the actor in the lime light. Uday Chopra was criticized more than politicians, ministers and cricketers who were accused of corruption.

Uday’s movies

After working as assistant director in movies like Parampara, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge and Dil To Pagal Hai, Uday Chopra’s first film as an actor was Mohabbatein (2000). His other movies are- Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai, Mujhse Dosti Karoge, Supari, Charas, Neal ‘n’ Nikki, Pyaar Impossible, Dhoom 1, 2, and 3. Uday Chopra’s character “Ali Akbar Fateh Khan” aka “Ali Bhai” is considered as the most popular character from Dhoom series.

The 41-year-old actor turned producer was recently in the headlines for releasing YRF’s first English movie called “Grace of Monaco” in the United States. It appears as if everyone was jealous when Uday Chopra was spotted with beautiful actress Nargis Fakhri at one of the beaches in Maldives during first week of January this year.

Out of all his movies, only Neal ‘n’ Nikki, and Pyaar Impossible received negative response at the box office. However, some newspapers and magazines keep on publishing anti-Uday stories. Do people really hate him, or is it that media is trying to take advantage of Uday’s humble and classy background?
