5 tips make your business meetings interesting and productive

Meetings are one of the most important activities for any given organization. Active participation of all members during the meeting is very important. Meetings can improve your team’s idea-generation and problem-solving productivity. Here are five tips which can help you to make your meetings interesting and productive.

1>    Stand for as much time as possible

Whoever runs the meeting should do so while standing. The moderator’s presentation will be more energetic, which will engage everyone in the room. Added bonus: it might even shorten the meeting.

2>    Make your power point presentations attractive

Reading power point presentations can be boring at times; some people might take the advantage of darkness and take a power nap. You should make power point presentations attractive by using images, and adding a questionnaire. Try to make it a two way conversation rather than just a reading session.

3>    Switch the Seats after regular intervals

When the meeting participants return from a break, have them sit in different seats. This will increase alertness and nudge folks out of their comfort zones.

4>    Boost the Brain with food

Instead of energy-sapping foods like soda, chips and pizza, provide healthier, protein-packed options along with veggies and lots of water.

5>    Keep control on the criticism

Nothing crushes creativity and enthusiasm faster than criticism. At the outset of a project, focus on generating ideas and worry about evaluating and fine-tuning them afterward. Think quantity, not quality; you can cherry-pick the best ideas later. Let criticism be the last part of your meeting.
