Senior BJP leader and former state minister Eknath Khadse had resigned during June last year due to alleged corruption in his Bhosari-based land deal. Plus, a Gujarat-based hacker Manish Bhangale had also claimed Khadse received phone calls from underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. The hacker was arrested in April this year for creating fake email id as well as call records, clearly to malign the BJP leader’s image.
As far as the land deal is concerned, the Dinkar Zoting Committee carefully studied various aspects and did not recommend any action against the leader who enjoys great respect and popularity in parts of Khandesh region.
Officials aware of case details told journalists that the former minister did not break any rules and had also paid tax, stamp duty for the said deal. The concerned committee’s report is expected to be tabled in the state assembly during this month.
Now, reports suggest that Khadse may enter the state cabinet once again after being sidelined for more than a year. Some unconfirmed sources also indicated that the former leader of opposition in the state assembly may get PWD ministry. However, the chief minister or BJP’s state unit has not officially confirmed anything about the same as of now.
